It sounds like you are doing everything right with your new reissue label. I'll probably buy the first album even without reading a review I'll wait 'til I can use a discount coupon though. I have an original of Fergusile but it never grew on me, maybe need to give it another listen. Kind of a question and answer after the review. I'd love to see more of this with other reviews!

I'm hyper-verbal as it is, and thrilled beyond measure to finally have lift-off on this label, so I hope I don't wear you all out! I've been reader of this site since day 1 and I've been commenting here for years, first under the handle of "AQ Shane" from my days with AudioQuest. Michael has done an amazing job of educating all of us, and especially me. I've been reading the reviews, comments and questions here for years and I know you all want to know everything you can about my releases and others.

The same album! Totally different sound from different places. Totally common knowledge to many, but admittedly not to me at the time. Shortly thereafter I began amassing a collection of UK Beatles pressings, and Mikey cracked the code for me on how to read the runouts to find out whether Beatles UK records for sale were early pressings and therefore more valuable.

This was costly information- those Beatles records cost me a pretty penny- but also priceless! Also a goal of Intervention Records is " the reissue market has focused too much on reissuing the same artists and records over and over, and there's too much great music that the world is still waiting to hear on premium vinyl" from IR website. So Shane is probably paying more for access to the tapes. Thats the reason I'm so excited about this news.

This is not just another Beach Boys or Jennifer Warnes reissue. They're amazing and they sound great, the jackets are first-class, my hat's off to Chad on those! As for the rest, I would just say that I've done everything the best possible way I can see to do it, and it costs a lot to produce records this way.

I've really looked the most closely at what Ron Rambach and Joe Harley have done with Music Matters Jazz and tried to emulate that level of quality and attention to detail. For sure, I could have been in business earlier if I were willing to work from digital sources for the original-analog titles. Not everything about the way the deals are priced is transparent to me, but my insistence on master tapes or the best sources available is certainly written in from the beginning.

With all of these first titles Kevin Gray and I evaluated every source before the project got a final green light, and I am at the console with Kevin Gray for every single mastering session myself, no exceptions.

RTI is mins from Cohearent in one direction, and Stoughton, who prints the jackets, is minutes in the other direction. I know every person who ever touches any crucial qualitative element of my LPs.

With Kevin mastering and cutting from the best sources, and RTI platting and pressing the sonics are nailed. But a further word on the jackets, they'll be better than ever. While Stealers Wheel 1 was a single jacket with no inserts, Ferguslie had an amazing insert and the two Everclears had original LPs that were gatefolds. So, these three titles Album) single-pocket gatefolds. Feguslie has the amazing insert reproduced as the gatefold interior, while the Everclears are meticulously restored gatefolds.

We used heavy blanks and film lamination for the best quality and longevity. All are the "old-style" deluxe jackets and they'll be beautiful. The Stealers Wheel titles especially have very unique cover art by John Patrick, which will simply amaze int his format. We've not just reproduced the original art, we're restoring to a point that's literally better than it ever was, LP. Again, this is exquisite, premium vinyl.

It costs, but if you love this music as much as I do it's really priceless. He's upfront on the price, and the source of his lps. I'd really love to pick up both these Stealers Wheel reissues from Intervention but the pricing in the UK is restrictive, unfortunately. Needless to say, we put the less-worn copy on the turntable, and wow, what a great album!

It was my first listen, and it must have been his millionth or so :- because he knew all the words to all the songs. I immediately ordered this, and so did he. As I listened, I could hear where I think this new rendering is going to shine - I could hear where the punchiness of the drums was tamed, for example.

Needless to say, we can't wait 'til Thanksgiving when it will ship. I must confess, I have not listened to an original release but this is worth every penny in my opinion. Search form Search. Growing from a teenager to an adult brought with it a sudden distaste for much of the pop-punk from my childhood. “Morbid Stuff” is that album that it took to remind me why I still like and have hope for the genre. PUP got everything right on this album with songs that are over the top and weird in .

Long time Gerry Rafferty fans were thrilled for the long-suffering artist when he finally had a hit single under his own name with “Baker Street”, taken from his late ‘70s release City to City. It’s probably the only #2 song on the Billboard charts to have an eight bar saxophone riff star and provide the memorable hook. “Baker Street” probably would have reached #1 but for Andy.

Weighing in at over 4 million words, The Wheel of Time is assuredly among the longest fantasy series out there, although reliable data on the matter is elusive; Wikipedia suggests it is some 1 million words longer than The Malazan Book of the Fallen, its chief competition for the honor (omitting shared universe tales like those of Mercedes.

Recorded in the summer of , the album introduced several standout tracks, such as the vulnerable love song "My Head Is My Only House Unless It Rains," the soul ballad "Too Much Time," and the pulsing "Big Eyed Beans from Venus."/5(95).
