The exhibition was based around images of the seaside and the rivers estuary of Pisana area with CMASA airplane factory built there in it's centre vis a vis of archaic marine cottages. This marvelous seaside scenery mixed with vintage industrial locations, together with some Bad Sector - Transponder (CDr) of nostalgia, created an unexpected but amazing mood. To sculpture a soundtrack of this scenery Massimo Magrini was asked to use acoustic and natural sounds too and so he added for this work treated piano and snippets of acoustic guitars together with water sounds and metal samples.
All initial exhibition sounds where regenerated, remastered and re-assembled during Transponder really was an unheralded gem with a criminally small press run of within the Bad Sector catalog, collecting tracks from various cassette compilations from the mid-'90s and capturing the classic Bad Sector sound; meditatively hypnotic textures, vibrant ambient swells, and percolating beds of ghostly ambience.
Initially an mp3 download, the original 20 minute program has been expanded into a full length CD, containing cold and fantastic atmospheres full of percolating soundwaves, deep space drones, glitches, and probing textures: an amazing soundtrack to the deepest places of the universe. These changes spread as waves all over the universe. Special devices, called gravitational interferometers, have been built to detect these waves. It was a "drone-like" sound of only a few minutes, but despite the difficult nature of the assignment, Massimo loved the very static and cryptic structure of the piece.
So, starting from this basic recording without using additional sounds he developed a 45 minute long track, dissecting it and re-arranging it on a molecular level, The original Astro sound can still be heard at the beginning and at the end. In between, you'll find the classic Bad Sector sound; warm, enveloping, resonating drones and shimmering textures. The re-edition comes in beautiful cardboard case with silver-embossed printing. This is an outstanding example in sound research by two of the most important masterminds of the Italian electronic music scene.
The CD is presented in a beautiful cardboard package with bronze-foil print. The first disc "Four Noble Truths" was released under the combined title of Bashin on the French label Athanor in and was dedicated to the basic principles of Buddhist teachings. The meditative and contemplative subject continues here as well, now being focused on the aspects of inner and outer space. We submerge in the dark thick matter of sound, fluid, transparent and stratiform. Woven from abstract electronics, omnifarious samples and transformed voices, textures are smoothly interchanging, always showing new visions in the black mirror of our viewport.
Makes you wonder - does the perceivable exist separately from the percipient? In any case this is dark, nocturnal, cosmic music, epic and with drama. Worth Bad Sector - Transponder (CDr) in your playlist for the next space travel! One 20 minute track that's extremely loud and brutal. Mostly operates on the mid-level and not so much in the upper frequency bands, which makes it much more listenable to me. But, really, there's not much to write here Enter Beyond Enclosure.
With their debut recording Dungeon of Total Void, this Portuguese duo fronted by Samantha Diabolik with the assistance of Andre Coelho of the now defunct Sektor and operating here as "The Analyst"have assembled an imposing homage to discomfort, pain, and pleasure.
Built around a foundation of subversive and deviant themes, the eight tracks here undulate and throb with malfunctioning electronics, noxious, droning wavelengths, brooding, low slung bass, and malevolent psychoacoustics, with a stream of processed vocal instructions and commands that create a heightened sense of tension and unease. Brooding, sometimes threatening, atmospherics with brain probing drones, melodies, and murky, surreal sounds, including the inclusion of some beats.
Using their trademark sounds of lush ominous melodies and insightful theories, extinct arrangements of life mechanics unfold to reveal The End Of It All, Bad Sector - Transponder (CDr).
Bisclaveret - In Hortis The whole material has been designed in such a way that it creates a coherent album. Aegri Somnia" is a summary of the early activities of the group, a reminder of archival recordings that, although they differ stylistically from what the band is performing today, show what the evolution of Bisclaveret sound looked like.
Bad Sector - Transponder (CDr) evolution of the band which has been firmly rooted in the ambient scene since its very beginning. Finnish masters of total filth. No bullshitjust noise. Limited to copies. Available on LP from Bacteria Field.
Re-issued as 5 separate CDs. This is part 5. Metal bashing and heavy chains. Guaranteed purgatory from ritual electronics and occult industrial to extreme distortion and offensive feedback assault.
Within the turbulence of chaos and bleakness, there exists fleeting form and un structure that is shattered and rebuilt over and over again; measured percussion, whispered incantations, and sudden outbursts of unseen violence.
A truly potent alchemical document in practice. In 4 panel digipak, limited copies. Special limited cassette edition also available from In Solace Publishing. Spanish ritualistic industrial sorcerers BLACK EARTH return with "Gnarled Ritual of Self Annihilation" - a sophomore full-length of unreal cinematic sonic disembodiment, conceived with the aim of turning the listener into a sacrificial centrepiece to a surreal ritual nightmare.
Following in the steps of their debut LP "A Cryptic Howl of Morbid Truth" and of their followup mini-album "Diagrams of a Hidden Order", on "Gnarled Ritual of Self Annihilation" Black Earth further refine and sharpen their horrific sonic blade, slicing through shadows and darkness with more skill and mastery than ever before to reveal a dimension beyond of incomprehensible ritual abandon.
As they first weave and then slice and dissect their impenetrable veil, a sonic ritual of abject disfigurement begins to take shape before the listener, as the strokes and gashes of black metal, industrial, noise and ritual drone intersect erratically and hypnotically, painting an hallucinatory arabesque of absolute dread and deformity.
As the album's wicked spires envelops them like a fog of snakes, the listener finds themselves immersed into an hallucinating aural delirium of complete disembodiment and self-implosion, in which they feel simultaneously out of body and helplessly trapped and crushed within themselves at the same time.
CD Edition of copies in 4 panel Digisleeve. Running Time The mutating precision of Pierce's electronics is counterpointed by Massimo's sonorous, deep vocals. Coming into a luxurious 8 panels digipack illustrated by Val Denham, The Impossibility of Silence is a cinematic journey into sonic abstractness and poetic concretism. Chasing rhythms and haunting melodies to score a motion picture made of eerie dreams and hallucinogenic visions.
It is Moon Music for the children of darkness, a gloomy invocation to all executed poets and a lullaby echoing through the silence. Didn't get a chance to listen to both CDs, but what I did listen to will certainly have great appeal for Coil enthusiasts. It is an epic and emotional tale about sorrow and loss, dedicated to the loving memory of Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson. Aspect something completely different from all previous BSP albums!
Mikael Karlsson was writing or co-writing all the music's for this album and the end result is an album of wonderful contemporary "classic music" with violins, viola, cello and piano. Moreover the lyrics for 2 of the songs were written and interpreted by Lydia Lunch, while other texts are by Pier Paolo Pasolini and Nico.
According to the author, BW explores much more inhospitable territories. It focuses on darker minimalistic tunes which suit perfectly sci-fi and horror films.
BW recorded using only bass and electric guitars which deliver more natural ambiance and presence to the sound. Angelos Liaros Mobthrowa Greek artist based in Berlin. The album is named after and inspired by the dune mountains of Crete, whose moonlike landscape was a sacred land of ancient ceremonies. Inspiring the music as well as the cover and artwork, most of the percussive samples and drones on the album were created by recording traditional custom Cretan instruments lute, skin drums, lyra, tsabouna and world instruments Tibetan bowls, gongs, Dungchen horns granulized through modular synths, hardware samplers and spacetime black holes.
Blakk Harbor guides the listener into an audible intersection between the traditional and the modern, between relief and tension, between secularness and spirituality. Sampled acoustic folk instruments, shamanic percussion and experimental electronics enriched with ritual drones create a dark, moody twist of tribalistic ambiance and subliminal driving force.
Omnipresent dark moods permanently interact with cinematic bright spheres to achieve a perfectly balanced equation. Brilliantly produced and elegantly arranged, Blakk Harbor presents an excellent debut of varied musical and spiritual realms. Highly recommended to those who are willing to take a look beyond the obvious surface. We played in the strictest of anonymity for five years, between and We split the band up after every session, Blasterkorps never really existed.
During this time of uncertainty, we painstakingly came out with three release, one on tape, four tracks on an 7" EP and finally six tracks on an 10" LP. His music is best described as an intense, raw and powerfully emotional journey into the dark regions of his mind. Ben uses his art to deal with his past and his life's experiences. Without going into his personal details it is clear to the listener that Ben has had his fair share of tragedy and bleak moments in life. This results in extremely profound musical pieces that create a menacing feeling but also make you appreciate them as something Bad Sector - Transponder (CDr) pure and unreserved.
Seldoml has music been such a direct and stark statement as with this album. Here, for the first time, those alliances are collected together in a double CD set.
