Location: France. I only care for the Steve Vai years. Boy those two albums are fantastic, and still a good listen today. ZongadudeMay 20, Location: Minneapolis, MN. Clearly they wanted to get it out and they hadn't come up with a full album's worth of material.
Too bad that band fell apart so quickly. I respect Dave a lot for wanting to branch out musically and not just replicate the VH sound once he proved he could do that with EEAS, but I also think there's a reason most of those efforts weren't very successful. Dude is one of the greatest frontmen of all time, but I think his solo career really shows the limits of his musical talent. I think that A Little Aint Enough is a pretty underrated album. I still think " A Little Ain't Enough " is a solid album as well. Sensible Shoes has some wonderful guitar on it. Sean like this. I actually have A Little Ain't Enough on vinyl. Saw it in a store for a very reasonable price and was like "why does this even exist on vinyl?
The title track and "Shoot It" are solid, but it's one of the early victims of CD-era bloat, I think. There definitely isn't 53 minutes of great material on it, and it's a bit of a chore to get through. Location: Peoria, IL. MagneticNorthpawMay 20, I like Roth's "rock" efforts and I give him credit for continuing to be at least an interesting songwriter, but the silly pop and techno dance detours are a massive buzzkill.
I will say the "DLR" album is criminally under rated and well worth seeking out. On the other hand, I don't believe I've got through his dreadfully bad last album "Diamond Dave. This is kind of a cool non-album track that he recorded not long after the aborted VH reunion in '96 that showed up on his "Best Of" compilation:.

I love "Crazy From the Heat" even though it was a little jarring to hear Dave's voice totally without Eddie's guitar. But it's a solid EP, probably because it Album) produced with Ted Templeman. Both of the Vai albums are great, especially Eat 'Em and Smile" which is absolutely magnificent. The production on "Skyscraper" is a little weaker without Ted Templman at the helm, but Vai's co-production with Dave gives it something of an early 80s Zappa vibe.
Bob Rock's production on "A Little Ain't Enough" sounds generic by comparison to David Lee Roth - Eat Em And Smile (CD previous two albums. I've only Album) them once or twice and nothing really caught my ear, although "Diamond Dave" sounded like it might be kind of fun after a few more listens XodusMay 20, Matthew Tate likes this. Most of the demos for Eat 'Em And Smile have been floating around for a couple decades.

This album was not only Dave's middle finger to VH but it was him showing the rest of the world just what he brought to the table in VH.
With what nowadays would have been considered a supergroup of musicians he took a batch of tunes and did what Album) does best with em. Not really a bad track on the whole album. Maybe it didn't hit the sales of but it did something that album didn't An underrated album if ever there was one!!! If your reading this and haven't heard this album I remember the day when MTV actually played videos, Album), and you could not wait to see the new World Premiere Video at the time.
After watching it, I was completely floored, with my mouth wide open. I loved it. As a guitar player, I especially loved Steve Vai's guitar work on this album. Dave could have not put together a more great group of musicians to make this album, and also Sky Scraper, but thats another story. I understand everyone has their own opinions, and thats great, they are so ever much entitled to them, like me and everyone else, but it amazes me when they try to compare this to a VH album, like Fair Warning, etc.
He was out of VH at this time. Different band. Im amazed at the whining, bitching over this. Always loved the cover. These are some awesome songs. The 80s was a great decade for music. No race required. Great album. With a great backing band and his usual style, Dave delivers on his first full-length solo outing. If you don't own this one yet, now's the time. This cd is a gem. I've never been a huge Dave fan but very track here is a gem. Steve Vai on guitar, Billy Sheehan on bass. With a better singer this could have been the greatest band ever. The title track is fun as is the upbeat Goin'crazy. Another fun Sheehan tune is Ladies night in Buffalo, a left handed homage to his home town.
This is a keeper if you like old Van Halen, great guitars, great Bass or just poppy metal fun. This is so good. The only problem is that many songs are too short! This is one of those albums I can listen to back to back. See all reviews from the United States. Top international reviews. David Lee Roth returns after his dismissal from Van Halen, with a classic Rock album that is worth a listen to anyone who is a fan of his style, added bonus is the band behind Roth, the amazing Steve Vai on guitar and the excellent Billy Sheehan on bass.
Recommended to fans of Van Halen and Roth alike. Thank you for your feedback. Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again. Great guitar work throughout. V silly but v good. Great cd some great tracks. Fab lp. Quick delivery. I had already had this on cassette so I had to get it on CD. Load more international reviews. Loved this album when it first came out on vinyl Stevie Vai's solo on 'Ladies' night in Buffalo'. Great to get a download version as well. As expected, quick delivery.
